Michael G Kennedy, PhD, ARNP
I am an adult psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with 30+ years of experience. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings and with diverse populations, I focus on providing psychiatric evaluations and pharmacotherapy for the treatment of acute and chronic mental health issues including: Anxiety and adjustment disorders, PTSD and veteran’s issues, mood disorders, ADHD, psychotic disorders and substance use disorders. I also have experience working with families of individuals coping with schizophrenia. I especially welcome individuals who wish to explore issues related to sexual orientation and gender identification. I completed a Master’s degree and PhD in Psychiatric Nursing and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Substance Abuse at the University of Washington School of Nursing. I have taught at the University of Washington, Seattle University and the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and I have been a co-investigator for research studies in psychiatric nursing interventions. I believe in providing a supportive environment where individuals are free to explore issues most relevant to their own needs and to achieve their maximum health. I am happy to provide pharmacotherapy for individuals who are concurrently working with psychologists or therapists in the community and welcome collaborative relationships with other providers.
